As Co-Lead Studio Director of Architecture at Gensler's Hong Kong office, his teams specialized in international projects of all scales. At Gensler, the world's largest design firm, he also served as an office leader and as a Design Experience Leader.

Prior to Gensler, Darren worked on the client side at LKF Group as Design Director and the Head of Design Studio, overseeing international projects and coordinating efforts across the Hong Kong, Phuket, and Shenzhen offices in mixed-use, retail, residential, and hospitality sectors. Prior architecture experience includes Foster + Partners.Educated in London and Hong Kong, he graduated with High Distinction from University. Darren is laureate of the MAKE Architects' 1st Prize for Architectural Excellence and Sustainability '07 and recognized for one of the Best Digital Portfolios in the UK '06-'09. His work is published and was exhibited across Europe. His global experience spans London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Sydney, and Beijing.Darren believes architecture is using creative intelligence problem-solving, creating sustainable solutions to enhance the user experience through power of impactful design.

Darren Chan has 21 years' experience on both architecture and developer (client) sides. He is Co-Lead Studio Director of Architecture at Gensler's Hong Kong office, focusing on international projects of all scales, including megaprojects. Gensler has evolved into the world’s largest design firm and pioneer sustainable building practices. Darren also serves an office leader role, and as a Design Experience Leader within Gensler’s Design Synergy group.Prior to Gensler, Darren was Design Director and Head of LKF Design Studio - a division of developer LKF Group. He led revitalization of the brand, overseeing international projects, coordinating between Hong Kong, Phuket, and Shenzhen offices, developing their international mixed-use, hospitality, retail, and residential portfolio through close partnerships and holistic services.Born in Oxford, educated in London and Hong Kong, Darren graduated with High Distinction from the University of Westminster. He is the first laureate awarded the MAKE Architects 1st Prize for Architectural Excellence and Sustainability (2007) and is recognized for having one of the Best Digital Portfolios in the UK (2006 to 2009); his works were exhibited across Europe sponsored by Arup. In addition to numerous project awards, he received several personal accolades including the eVolo Housing, Digital Architecture, eVolo Skyscraper, SuperSkyscraper, and Marstopia Awards.Darren's global experience spans London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Sydney, and Beijing. He gained expertise through elite mentorship at prestigious firms such as Foster + Partners, Aedas, Rocco, Woods Bagot, and Gensler while advancing to leadership roles across a diverse portfolio of international award-winning projects.Currently, Darren leverages his skills within top global design teams. He believes architecture is problem-solving and creating sustainable solutions that enhance user experience through design.
